Southbound

Vacation starts tomorrow. I’ve been counting the days. We are travelling south and a little bit west to visit the Smoky Mountains of eastern Tennessee. With no real purpose other than to hike and stare at the scenery, this break should be the battery recharging that both Harry and I need.

I’ll be packing my notebooks, and iPad. Of course, I’ll write… something. If these views don’t fire the imagination, well then there’s something wrong with me! I might post some photos. Provided that the internet connection can handle it. I’m not confident! Being forced to unplug isn’t such a bad thing, though.

I plan on reading the five books I have started. My Goodreads reading challenge has been neglected far too long. And best of all, I get to wake up every morning to the sounds of quiet. Based on the satelliteΒ view of the cabin we rented, there isn’t another soul around.

Which makes for the perfect location to be stalked by a serial killer, right? And speaking of serial killers… here is the best part of this trip. Β I get to meet my friend Fictional Kevin in person. How cool is that? He and Waco are coming to the mountains to meet us on Sunday. I’m telling you all, just in case you never hear from me again!

  1. “Speaking of serial killers […] Fictional Kevin…” Hahaha!

We will know exactly what to tell the authorities.

Have a great time! But don’t disappear… I’ll have no one with whom to discuss aquatic life. πŸ™‚ Ha!

  2. Be safe and inhale! Seems a few of us are hitting the back roads and high country this weekend as well. I guess it’s time to refill the tanks. Have a great time❀️

  3. Oh, I’m so jealous. Give Kevin and Waco big hugs from me. You’ll have to let me know how you like the cabin and the area. We’ve talked about doing a family reunion there cause it’s about halfway for those of us in the Chicago area and those on the East Coast. Have loads of fun!

  4. Oh Meg that sounds like a wonderful trip…you and Harry should love it! Nothing is more rewarding for the soul than nature. 5. Uhm, how long do you think I should wait before I call the cops? πŸ˜› πŸ˜€

That sounds awesome!! Have fun, sister. And yes, write and take pics. We want photographic and written accounts of what all you do. Please punch Kevin on the nose for me, for killing David like that. And give a huge hug to Waco from my side. She sounds amazing from what I’ve read about her.
